Rumors are flying!

Well as of today you can take your pick of the rumors! From Spain, usually accurate but unusually quiet right now: At least the beginning of June and possibly up to the middle of June. From a few Canadian and US agencies: Cut off of May 25!!! (Please NO) A few other agencies are still saying through the end of May and possibly the beginning of June. One thing they all agree on is that the stork will depart the mainland no later than next Monday! I am still holding out for a little bit of hope since obviously NO ONE seems to know for sure whats going to happen. CCAA should update their site with the actual date sometime late this weekend or the early hours of Monday.

This weeks news...

which isn't much! Unfortunately there aren't any real substantial rumors going around yet. So we still wait to see where we are at. In order to keep my spirits up I have taken up shopping! That has to stop though! I think I will start concentrating on a packing list instead. Our weather is supposed to start warming up this week (above freezing) and the sun is out today. It always lifts your spirits to see the sunshine!

The boys love playing "bird" with the kitties. Here Tigger decided to actually get up rather than lay and wait for it to come to him!

Here is my pile of stuff for China. I pick up one or two things every now and then to help offset the cost in the end. Posted by Picasa

Until we get our girl, Caden is happy to oblige me with tea parties! Can't say Daddy is happy though. Posted by Picasa

These are my great buys of the week. Since I really haven't bought much I couldn't pass up these deals. Posted by Picasa

I made a dress!

I have decided to attempt a few sewing projects and started with a dress for Paige. The dress wasn't so hard but the pants took Rick and I (yes, Rick) three days to figure out! I still say the pattern is wrong! I have the fabric for one more then I'm going to try one for myself (different pattern and fabric obviously!) The house has been a bit neglected lately in order to accomodate my new hobby but I'm sure having a lot more fun! I guess you could say I'm helping the boys build their character! (see picture below)
I am busy baking mini cupcakes and decorating them for Trace's class Valentine party. I suppose I need to do something other than sew, and blog!
The most current rumor from Spain (which are usually very accurate) is that referrals will be comming the end of the month. They say they will cover the rest of May and 1/2 of June. That is the people who were logged into the Chinese computers in May and June. We were logged in July 26. IF the rumor is true and IF they continue this pattern we should see a referral the end of April and travel in early July. Those are some pretty big if's though so we just wait and see I guess!

A New Chapter in Our Lives...

Since China is dragging its feet we went ahead and adopted two fuzzy babies. We had promised the boys for a year now that they could get a cat so I finally quit dragging my feet about it. I took them to the Humane Society to let them choose. After an hour of debating (and petting) they finally settled on these two. Lucy is a year old and a long haired tabby. She is very sweet and cautious. At the moment we can't find her, so she is obviously good at hiding too!
Tigger is seven months old and a short haired striped tabby. His previous owners called the humane society to claim they found a cat with a broken hip. Their plan was to let the Humane society do the surgery then go in and get him back for the fifty dollar adoption fee!! Fortunately the Humane Society found out and wouldn't release him back to them unless refunded the cost of the surgery. Needless to say, he is now ours! You can see his surgery scar in the picture of him and where the fur is still growing back. He walks with a definate limp and has a hard time jumping on anything (that isn't such a bad thing!). So, I guess you could say we adopted a special needs kitty. Other than that he is a pretty funny boy! He LOVES the little "fur" ball that we bought him and likes to go chasing after it on our hardwood floors. He loves people and follows me around 'talking'. Now if I can just get Trace to quit following him everywhere!

I FINALLY did It!!

It has only taken me five months, but I finally managed to publish some pictures! Hopefully I have it down now and can add more soon.

Mom and I got the nursery done between Christmas and new years. We had a lot of fun and are pretty proud of the way it turned out.

This month is a tough one for us since we were expecting our referral in January. Now, we have no idea when to expect it. The rumors predict anywhere from April to August! I am praying for May (not that April wouldn't be fine - just not expected). We know that our little girl is somewhere in China and we are anxious to meet her and bring her home!

On a final note... we are all settled in to our new home in Chicago! The boys are adjusting and all of our parents have been out to visit. Trace is dissapointed that we have not had the promised snow, but he is starting to like school. Caden is having fun with Mommy at home for now. Our home in Battle Ground sold and now we are starting the process of buying the home we are living in. We love our new house - Thank you Todd and Jen!

We will have to figure out a way to tie the tulle up before she gets ahold of it! Posted by Picasa
