I took Miss P. out for a walk around the block and tried to get a couple of birthday pictures of her. Unfortunately this is the only one that was any good! We’ll try again – hopefully we’ll get another nice day soon!

We celebrated Chinese New Year and Paige's birthday together this year! Once again it was a fun time to get together with family and friends and do what we all do best - EAT! Paige was very excited to finally get a couple of Barbie dolls. We have stayed away from them up til now but decided that as long as she had some "kid" ones and a "mommy" then we could do it. So Skipper, Stacie and Chelsea joined us along with Glitter Glam Vac Barbie. As Paige's preschool teacher always says, "glitter is the gift that keeps on giving." I suspect we will be graced with this gift for quite a while yet to come! Hello Kitty was also a big thing this year and she got some cool new Hello Kitty Legos and an umbrella. The cake too was adorned with Hello Kitty. This morning I was awakened by a bouncing, giggling little girl and the words, "Mommy I'm FIVE!" Technically not for another week kiddo but who's going to squash that entheusiasm?

Yep, we packed up the kids and headed off for a week of sunshine and pineapple! Thanks to Rick’s sister and her husband we had a free place to crash and thanks to SkyWest we had a free ride to get there. You just can’t pass up a chance like that! We were able to take the kids to Pearl Harbor, the Battleship Missouri, the Pacific Air Museum, Diamond Head, the swap meet and numerous trips to the beach. It was hard to remember that it was actually winter back home. After a week we were ready to get back to our own surroundings and I’m sure Kim and Doug were ready to have there place back too! We are so grateful for the chance to go and rejuvenate – it was wonderful!
